Bridgeport-Spaulding Community School District Non-Homestead Millage Renewal and Sinking Fund Millage vote on Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Residents will be asked to vote on a renewal of the Non-Homestead Millage on property such as apartment buildings, rental homes, vacation properties, some vacant land and commercial/industrial properties.

This proposal would not affect the millage rate for owner-occupied primary residences. There would be no cost increase on primary residence homes.

No increase on property for Bridgeport and Spaulding residents.

Residents will also be asked to vote on a Sinking Fund Millage. This millage is for 3 mills over a 10 year period. This millage would replace the current 6 mill bonded levy.

District voters approved a Bond debt in 2002 that expired in 2016.

This millage would be used for renovation or repair of school buildings, upgrading technology and school security.
If this millage is approved, it would cut the 2002 millage by 50%. A home valued at $50,000 would save $75 per year and a home valued at $100,000 would save $150 per year in taxes.
