As some of you may have known the large log jam on the Cass River in Bridgeport near the Waste Water Plant was removed last month. Unfortunately, a new log jam has now formed further down the river closer to Studor Drive.
The firm that cleared the first log jam in March, Prairie Grain Excavating, will evaluate the new log jam when the ground dries up.
Currently, canoes and kayaks are not be able to maneuver around this log jam without taking their equipment out of the river and putting it back in the river on the other side. We do not recommend this as the river bank area is not very safe.
The Township plans to get this log jam cleared away so everyone on the river can enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the Cass.
