Important Tax Information
Bridgeport Charter Township tax information can be accessed at the following website: www.sagagis.org or the Treasurer’s office at (989) 777-0940, ext 205.
The Summer 2008 Property Taxes will be mailed by July 1, 2008.
2007 Summer Taxes are due and payable to the Bridgeport Charter Township Treasurer by September 15, 2008. Delinquent taxes paid after September 15, 2008 will be assessed 1% per month interest through February 16, 2009. All delinquent taxes (both Summer and Winter) will be assessed a 1% interest charge plus a 3% penalty fee by the Township for payments processed from February 16th through February 28, 2009.
The township accepts checks, cash or money orders for payment of taxes. Partial payments are also accepted.
APPLICATIONS FOR DEFERMENT OF SUMMER 2007 TAXES
Qualified persons may defer their Summer Taxes on homestead properties (without interest or penalty) until February 16, 2009. Deferment applications are available at the Bridgeport Charter Township Office and must be returned to the Bridgeport Charter Township Treasurer by September 15, 2008. Applications for deferred tax payments need to be filed each year. To qualify, a household income cannot exceed $ 40,000 and one of the following:
- 62 years of age or older, including the unmarried surviving spouse of a person who was 62 years of age or older at the time of death;
- A paraplegic or quadriplegic:
- An eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, eligible widow or widower;
- A blind person: or
- A totally and permanently disabled person
- Those that farm agricultural real property may also qualify.
* NOTE: If Summer Taxes are deferred, they are not added to your winter tax bill. Bring your Summer Tax bill with you when you make payment.

Taxes become delinquent March 1, 2008 and payable, with additional fees to the Saginaw County Treasurer at 111 S. Michigan Ave. Saginaw, Mi 48602. Payoff information may be obtained by calling (989) 790-5225.
