We are going to lift the burn ban effective as of 9:00 am this morning. While conditions will be ok today and later this week there is increased risk predicted for tomorrow. We ask that all caution be taken and do not leave the fire unattended.
We had some question the ban. What many do may not understand is that it can rain three inches and not instantly improve dry vegetation conditions but for a day or two. We essentially have dry vegetation on top of mud. The fires we experienced the past two weeks were due to dead, dry grasses, leaves and crop stubble.
The biggest risk factor is persons not using best judgement when and where they burn.
