Bridgeport Charter Township announced several changes in precincts and polling locations that will affect most township voters for this year’s elections on August 2, and November 8.
Precinct Five (formerly at Bridgeport Community Church) has been consolidated into Precinct One. Former Precinct Five voters that wish to vote in person will now vote at the Temporary Bridgeport Governmental Center, 6740 Dixie Highway, Bridgeport.
Further, those voters that were in the original Precinct One, will vote for a district representative in the 94th State House District. Those voters that were previously in Precinct Five will vote for a district representative in the 97th State House District. Voters will be given a ballot, either in person or absentee, that corresponds to the State House District based on their residence location.
Additionally, other changes resulted in a polling location change that will affect the residents in Precincts Two and Four. Voters in these two precincts that voted at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Parish on Williamson Road will now be voting in the gymnasium at the Bridgeport-Spaulding High School, 4691 Bearcat Blvd., Bridgeport.
New Voter Identification Cards are being mailed for all active voters that will list your updated precinct and/or polling locations.
Bridgeport Charter Township voters in Precinct Three remain the same, however, they may be affected by the redistricting at either the state or federal levels and will also be issued new Voter Identification Cards (I.D.). Voters are urged to watch for the new I.D. cards in the US mail.
Voters that have requested an Absentee Ballot to be mailed to their residence may return them by US mail, in person at the Temporary Governmental Center, or at one of the election ballot drop off boxes at either the Temporary Governmental Center or the township fire station.
