On November 8, 2022 Bridgeport residents will be asked to vote on a revised bond initiative for the proposed Bridgeport Municipal Complex which includes administration, police, and fire functions for the Township. After our first attempt at a millage failed in November 2021 by 141 votes we went back to the drawing board to try and address the concerns of residents regarding the proposed building. We heard two primary issues from residents: Residents wanted to be part of the process, and residents felt that a price tag of $7.2 million for the base bond amount was too high. To address these concerns, Bridgeport formed a 15 member Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) in February 2022, and Bridgeport found additional funding sources to lower the base bond amount to $5.5 million for the November 2022 bond initiative.
