String holiday lights should be kept out of your MMWA curbside recycling because they are “tanglers” that will choke the recycling equipment but throwing them away isn’t the best option either.
Beginning Monday, October 30, 2023, residents should be using MMWA carts ONLY (unless they have side door service or premium manual collection) for trash & recycling. While residents can occasionally have a minimal number of bags (1-2) outside of their carts – if you are consistently using personal cans and bags in addition to the carts, click here to purchase an additional cart: https://www.recyclemotion.org/carts or call MMWA @ 989-781-9555.
