Bridgeport Charter Township is seeking applicants for a Police Officer position. This position is under the supervision and direction of the Chief of Police. Applicants must meet all position requirements as listed in the job description which include, but are not limited to, the following: must be at least 21 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of an Associates Degree, preferably a Bachelors Degree; be of good moral character; possess a valid Michigan driver's license; and must have a good driving record. Applicants must be certified as defined by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) by date of hire. Successful completion of MCOLES written skills test and physical agility skills test is also required by date of hire. We’re excited to announce that Bridgeport Charter Township has an open fellowship position for 2021-22! Our fellow will work with our team for 15 months on projects that strengthen ties between our residents and ultimately improve the quality of life in Bridgeport Charter Township. Fellows play a vital role by adding more capacity to our programs so we can accomplish all the goals we’ve set as a community. Our fellow will lead development of a Township-wide Capital Improvement Plan, a community re-branding and marketing strategy, various zoning text amendments, and a comprehensive code enforcement and blight removal strategy.

This fellowship is managed by the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM), with support from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). CEDAM is a coalition of leaders across Michigan’s community development sector that work to create vibrant, inclusive spaces for all people to live and work. Through programs, advocacy, and other resources, CEDAM promotes community development and equity.
