Dixie from Birch Run Road to Junction.
This portion also includes the Roundabout at Curtis and Dixie.
Milling and base course paving is complete. Driveway and roadway approach work has started with the base course being placed yesterday and today in most approaches.
The top layer of asphalt in the 5 lanes section from Birch Run road to the north near Meijer is scheduled for Saturday. The rest of next week will see the top course being placed from that point north to a point north of Townline road. Drive approaches in these areas will likely be topped as well next week.
The roundabout construction has started. Curtis road is closed at Dixie. Please follow the detour. Dixie will remain open at Curtis. The roundabout is expected to be completed by Labor Day.
The hope is to adjust the traffic shift on Dixie at Curtis to the opposite side just before the Independence weekend or just after. This remains to be decided. The traffic shift is needed to complete the westerly half of the roundabout.
The roadway between Townline and the Cass River Bridge should finished when the round about is finished
Dixie from Willard to Birch Run Road
This portion will be bid in late June. A traffic signal will be added at the Burt Road intersection and center left turn lanes will be added for this intersection. Construction for this portion of road will likely begin in late July. The roadwork will likely be complete by November with the signal installation likely in the winter.
